How to Make an All Twine Rosary!
Every three months, we send care packages to our soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the items we send in the boxes is an all twine rosary - made by us!We need lots of help making these rosaries! Warning: the first two or three rosaries you make will not look too good and will take a lot of time to finish - but after a while you can make them pretty quickly!
You can pick up the pre-measured and cut twine here in the Youth Ministry Office! We can show you how to make them or you can watch the videos below!
Here is a link to where you can buy your own twine:
FNT Industries
Please make sure you buy #36 twine. All black or navy blue is prefered by the military. (Other colors are available on the website, but please only make black or navy!)
Please print out the instructions below and follow along with the videos. Normally you would put a metal crucifix at the end of the rosary - but the military prefers an all twine cross. Why? Metal crucifixes make noise and reflect light! This is not good if you are in a battlefield! The flier will explain how to make the cross - it is easy!
Thanks for all you do for our service men and women!
